Everyone needs to be aware of these two scumbags.

Stealing money from people, in some circumstances it has taken many years to save. 

These two have ruined for many people what is supposed to be a cherished once in a lifetime day. The most memorable time has turned into a memorable time for the wrong reasons. 

Lets look a bit more into these two scammers, below you will find links to there personal information including social media etc, if anyone else has any more information on either martinez please send us the information and it will be added to this page. 

The company behind the scam

You know something isn't quite right when the people you're dealing with are sending messages from a company name, signing contracts in a different company name, sending details from another domain etc and this is just what erik and cristina have been doing. 

The company elysian fields events has a domain and a website https://www.elysianfieldsevents.com with basically nothing on other than a black wordpress page with test suggesting it is the same as Indigo Falls Events, https://indigofallsevents.com/.

One would assume from the covering company one of these companies has been set up as a front to hide behind. A lot of emails all came from elysian fields events emails but in the name of indigo falls events.

The indigo falls facebook page and instagram page has now been disabled. I suspect it won't be long before the websites are disabled and other event listing websites have removed the details for this venue also. 

The scam

Grab yourself a coffee / tea or something stronger,  you might need it for what you're about to read. Especially if you have suffered at the hands of these two scumbags.

This is my own personal journey and how myself and my fiancee got scammed by erik and cristina martinez, how we found out and what is currently being done about these scammers.

Booking the venue Indigo falls

Once we had decided indigo falls was the preferred venue for our wedding we started to liase with the venue. We was sent all the details regarding the different wedding packages, the optional extras and the room availability for lodging.

As a venue Indigo falls is a bit isolated out the way. The venue although says is just 20 minutes away from the nearest town in our opinion having to travel backwards and forwards to hotels late at night is a hassle so the lodgings available on site at one of the three houses (The Lakehouse  sleeps 19 / The loft sleeps 10/ The Cabin sleeps 4)  is perfect for guests to stay at following a ceremony. 

In March 2025 we engaged in discussions with Indigo Falls and our point of contact throughout the whole time at this point was cristina martinez, emailing us from cristina@elysianfieldsevents.com and we was given access to a portal run by honeybook.com for indigo falls. 

During our discussions was the time we found out that erik martinez had not been completely honest whilst he was giving us a tour of the venue and majority of the areas within the venue which we was told was all included was actually chargeable optional extras.

We was told we could have full access, for example we were told we could use the BBQ area whenever we wanted to but once the booking process started to use that area cost an extra $250 for a few hours. We were also told the bride and groom changing rooms under the chapel was available for $150 yet during our discussions cristina said they would cost $500 each. 

We discussed the venue and the optional extras and put down the bullshit we were told by erik as a salesman trying to sell the venue. 

At this time we also discussed the lodging and available accommodation.  We were encouraged to pay in full for the rooms by being given a 15% discount if they was paid in full at the same time as the wedding. 

We booked the Lakehouse and the Cabin and paid in full for both rooms for two nights and also paid for the wedding in full by credit card. 

We had the confirmed signed contract and confirmation emailed to us on 24 April 2025. 

Everything changes...

On Thursday 8 May 2025 at 20:52 BST we received an email the following from erik martinez: emartinez@elysianfieldsevents.com

It is with a bittersweet heart that we share the news that we have transitioned the ownership and operations of the property (along with Cabin A1 and A2) back to its original owners, the Tidwell family, as of Tuesday, May 6, 2025. This decision was made with the utmost consideration and care for all our brides and clients, and we want to assure you that every effort has been made to secure the best possible outcome for your special day.

Realisation... 

Following the email above I had several questions I needed answers to. I emailed martinez several times over the following weeks, sometimes I was ignored and other times I got a frustrating response from martinez saying he would do his best to answer any questions I had if I needed answers but ignored any questions in the emails, he just kept saying the new owners will be in touch. We went round in circles back and forth for weeks, he suggested I contact the new owners because he no longer had anything to do with the running of the business, he assured me he passed my details onto the new owners and also assured me he was passing all of my emails onto the new owners and it was in fact the new owners that was ignoring me, he apologized for the position I was in and showed a sympathetic attitude towards my situation. 

All of this was an act, all of this was lies.

Eventually I emailed the "new owners" directly myself. 

Tonya was the contact given to me by martinez.

Tonya's father was the original land owner that sold the land to martinez. 

Following several emails with Tonya I set up a phone call to discuss the situation. Tonya confirmed that she didn't know who I was and the list of weddings she was given by martinez did not include my wedding. Martinez has not passed on a single email and it was a shock to have me contact her. 

The truth

The truth is alarming. The truth is really sad and I feel really sorry for everyone that has suffered at the hands of the martinez family.

So the truth is martinez had not been paying the owners the mortgage / rent for the property for a long time. 

The Tidwell's financed the deal for martinez to purchase Indigo Falls because nobody else was prepared to give him the money. 

Because martinez had not been paying the money he owed for the property the Tidwell family had started legal proceedings against martinez and started foreclosure proceedings. 

In the UK this is known as a property  repossession order.

The following advert appeared in a local newspaper "The Dallas New Era" This advert advertised the planned foreclosure against Elysian Fields Group LLC. 

Before an advert like this goes to print and the situation gets to this stage it is not rocket science to understand that the person on the receiving end of the foreclosure must have known at this time they we're doing wrong. 

During our venue tour March 2025 martinez  must have known, when discussing the wedding plans martinez must have known.

When we paid our hard earned money martinez family must have known.

Martinez hosted a venue tour then proceeded to take our money knowing he had no intention and would never be hosting our wedding at Indigo Falls.

The outcome

Following the discovery of the scam I decided to turn to social media to see if anyone else had fallen victim to this scam and sure enough there are lots of people that have lost money to martinez. 

On facebook there is a page called North Georgia Weddings, search for Indigo falls and there are several posts from people that have suffered at the hands of martinez and his scam. 

We have been in touch with our credit card company and we have raised a chargeback in order to get the money back that we paid. 

Once I have an update I will post the update here.

As of 31 July 2025 the credit card company had submitted my claim along with my evidence to martinez and Indigo falls and they had 45 days to respond. 

On 17 June 2025 I emailed erik martinez and asked him for his comments regarding the scam he is running and the foreclosure on the property but to date he has ignored my email and has not responded. 

cristina also stopped responding a long time before that.

Connections

What are the connections?

I believe erik martinez and cristina martinez are extremely vile people that should be avoided at all costs.

I believe extreme caution should be taken when dealing with anyone connected to martinez, indigo falls and elysian fields events LLC. I also believe the people working closest to them should also be avoided and this includes the following people we have found in connection with martinez.

martinez is linked with Paragon Staffing LLC.

The paragon staffing facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100080806096062 yet somehow has zero reviews and no followers. 
Something is surely suspicious with this company and structure behind it. 

The website for paragon staffing suggests it is paragon staffing LLC that have acquired the venue Indigo Falls. The main point of contact is called Dany Martinez (dany or danny) and is pictured on the website also. The legal inforomation found on the internet suggests the founder is erik martinez. 

Another connection: Cerlumi

erik martinez is also linked to a T Shirt /fashion company called cerlumi (@cerlumi) | TikTok. You can see his tik tok page here although it doesn't look like it's going to well at the moment but this is his page:
